… that my consumption of gin might have been curbed by my long abstinence…
But I’d be wrong.
(No matter my substitutes, my distracting concentrations, or other satisfactions – not even my stock-standard if increased b47hr00m m4s7urb47!0ns.)
Seems like my visits to the freezer (for gin + ice), the chopping board (for fresh slices of lime), and my consumption levels have diminished none, and perhaps even increased, since I vowed toward moderation.
O, moderation is still my principle.
But for such a pure and cleansing alcohol, for which no real limits seem to exist, it’s difficult to discern where one’s “natural habits”, “dangerous concerns”, and perhaps “healthy consumptions” begin , end, merge, etc.
Jake, my excuses are not your excuses.
There are three kinds of gin, as far as I’m concerned:
I’m pretty much confined by finances to indulging in category 2. Currently this is Gilbey’s. It’s $27 a litre, which is a good price for a taste that still beats out Gordon’s.
It’s just too bad I can’t afford a bottle of category 3. Bombay a week.
Opportunity sure does cost…
